Job summary

Flock Safety is seeking a frontend leader to shape the Search experience across a React, TypeScript, and Node stack. You will own frontend architecture, optimize high-traffic search interfaces, and partner with product, design, and backend peers to translate user research into performant user experiences.

You will build map-based visualizations, mentor peers through code reviews, and drive client-side performance and data retrieval for data-heavy applications.

Qualifications

• Mastery of modern frontend web technologies with React and TypeScript.
• Experience building map-based data visualizations using Mapbox or Google Maps API.
• Fullstack context with Node.js and modern API design (REST, GraphQL, or gRPC).
• Understanding of backend microservice interactions and PostgreSQL.
• Strong problem-solving in ambiguous technical environments; continuous learning mindset.
• Familiarity with AWS managed services or frontend performance optimization for high-traffic apps.

Responsibilities

• Lead the architectural evolution and frontend execution for core Search features across a React, TypeScript, and Node stack.
• Partner with product, design, and backend engineers to translate user research into performant experiences.
• Build complex map-based visualizations and geospatial interfaces.
• Champion frontend engineering standards, conduct code reviews, and elevate technical execution.
• Monitor and optimize client-side performance, state management, and data retrieval for high-traffic apps.
