Job summary

Flock is seeking an experienced engineer to design and build a scalable planning platform that connects urban planning and deployment workflows. You will work on core software engines for optimal device placement, automations for permitting, and real-time dashboards for deployment teams and customers.

The role involves backend services with TypeScript/Node.js, containerized microservices, and cloud deployments using Docker, Helm, and Kubernetes. Remote work is available with regional hubs.

Qualifications

• Proficiency building web services and APIs using TypeScript and Node.js.
• Strong SQL database skills and experience with relational stores.
• Hands-on experience containerizing apps with Docker and deploying via Helm to Kubernetes.
• Cloud services experience including AWS S3, API Gateway, and SQS.

Responsibilities

• Architect geospatial tools and routing algorithms for hardware placement.
• Build automated permitting integrations across municipalities and utilities.
• Design dashboards showing real-time device installation progress and fleet health.
• Develop backend web services powering real-time planning data interactions.
