Job summary

York Space Systems seeks a Senior Frontend Software Engineer to own the frontend experience end-to-end, using React and TypeScript in a modern web-based application. You will collaborate with UI/UX and backend engineers to build fast, reliable interfaces for satellite operators.

You will design reusable components and design systems, translate designs into high-quality code, and contribute to agile ceremonies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 6+ years of frontend and web application development experience.
• Deep proficiency in React, architecture patterns and state management.
• Strong TypeScript usage in large-scale frontend codebases.
• Experience building design systems and shared component libraries.
• Proficiency with Yarn, Babel and Material-UI; Git collaboration.
• Familiarity with REST APIs and backend integration.
• Mentorship of engineers and collaboration across teams.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving in fast-paced environments.
• Active security clearance or ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of user-facing features using TypeScript and React, collaborating with UI/UX and backend engineers.
• Translate designs and requirements into high-quality, maintainable code meeting functional and visual standards.
• Build and own reusable components, shared libraries, and design systems that scale across the platform.
• Engineer frontend algorithms and business logic to support scalability, automation, and near real-time data presentation.
• Write unit tests and documentation for internal users and customers.
• Participate in agile ceremonies including sprint planning, standups, and retrospectives.
• Other duties as assigned.
