York Space Systems seeks a Senior Frontend Software Engineer to own the frontend experience end-to-end, using React and TypeScript in a modern web-based application. You will collaborate with UI/UX and backend engineers to build fast, reliable interfaces for satellite operators.

You will design reusable components and design systems, translate designs into high-quality code, and contribute to agile ceremonies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 6+ years of frontend and web application development experience.
• Deep proficiency in React, architecture patterns and state management.
• Strong TypeScript usage in large-scale frontend codebases.
• Experience building design systems and shared component libraries.
• Proficiency with Yarn, Babel and Material-UI; Git collaboration.
• Familiarity with REST APIs and backend integration.
• Mentorship of engineers and collaboration across teams.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving in fast-paced environments.
• Active security clearance or ability to obtain one.

York is seeking a Senior Frontend Software Engineer who is passionate about building software that pushes the bounds of what's possible. Our software is a modern web-based application (React/TypeScript, C# .NET) with a microservice infrastructure (Docker, Kafka, REST) that operators use to monitor and control constellations of spacecraft across several active missions.

As a senior member of the team,you'llown the frontend experience end-to-end,from design systemmanagementto the real-time telemetry dashboards thatsatelliteoperators depend on in high-stakes environments.You'llpartner closely with UI/UX, backend engineers, and operators to build interfaces that are fast, reliable, and intuitive under pressure, tackling difficult problemslike:

• Visualizing live satellitestate across a constellation
• Surfacing alerts during critical mission windows
• Designing workflows to transfer data betweenair-gappedenvironments
• Ensuringfull UI functionality during the transfer of control betweenMission Operation Centers

You'll also drive frontend best practices across the team and help junior engineers grow their craft.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineers, operators, UI/UX, and customers across departments
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through code reviews, pair programming, and design discussions
• Contribute to sprint planning, technical scoping, and cross-team alignment on feature work
• Help establishand advocate for frontend best practices and design system standards across the team

RequiredQualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Scienceor related field
• 6+ years of software engineering experience with a strong focus on frontend and web application development
• Deep proficiencyin modern React, includingcomponentarchitecture, performance optimization, and state management patterns
• Strong expertisein TypeScript and its application in large-scale frontend codebases
• Experience building and maintainingdesign systems and sharedcomponentlibraries
• Proficiencywith common front-end tooling such as Yarn, Babel, and Material-UI
• Experience with Git in a collaborative, multi-contributor environment
• Familiarity with backend APIs and the ability to design and consume REST APIs effectively
• Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and drive frontend code quality through reviews and design discussions
• Proven ability to collaborate across engineering, UI/UX, and operational stakeholders
• Exceptional problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate ambiguous requirements independently and drive to resolution
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including presenting technical concepts to non-technical audiences
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment
• Active security clearance or ability to obtain one

• Experience with modern state management tools such asTanStackQuery
• Experience with WebAssembly(WASM) for performance-critical frontend workloads
