John Deere Harvester Works in East Moline, IL seeks a Senior Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable applications integrating with enterprise platforms. You will lead architecture, review code, and mentor teams across React/TypeScript, APIs, data stores, and pipelines.

The role emphasizes automated testing, performance monitoring, and strong DevOps ownership (CI/CD, observability). Onsite position with visa sponsorship not available; manufacturing domain exposure is a plus.

Qualifications

• React with 5+ years of frontend experience building complex integrated architectures.
• Strong TypeScript experience (4+ years) with strict typing and robust APIs.
• 4+ years of Test-Driven Development using Jest/RTL/Playwright/Cypress.
• 3+ years in Container-as-a-Service (CaaS) with Docker, Helm, and Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain secure, reliable, and scalable applications and services that integrate with enterprise platforms (data, identity, observability, CI/CD).
• Lead technical design and architecture, define patterns and interfaces, and conduct code/design reviews for quality.
• Translate product outcomes into technical execution and shape strategy with the Software Engineering Manager.
• Mentor engineers through pairing, design guidance, and best practices across React/TypeScript, APIs, data stores, and pipelines.
• Drive engineering excellence with automated testing, performance monitoring, and operational readiness.
• Own DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and observability.
