Job summary

John Deere is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in Waterloo, IA to design, build, and maintain scalable applications that integrate with enterprise platforms. You will lead technical design, drive architecture runway, and mentor teams across React/TypeScript, APIs, and data pipelines.

You will own DevOps practices, automated testing, and observability, while delivering secure, reliable software in an onsite role. VISA sponsorship is not available for this position.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with React/TypeScript front-end architectures.
• Strong command of hooks, context, performance optimization, and state management.
• Proven history of owning front-end architecture, code reviews and production troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain secure, scalable applications that integrate with enterprise platforms.
• Lead technical design, architecture, interfaces, and performance expectations; conduct reviews.
• Translate product outcomes into technical execution with engineering leadership.
• Mentor engineers and promote best practices across React/TypeScript, APIs, data stores, and pipelines.
• Drive testing, performance monitoring, resilience, and operational readiness.
• Own DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and observability.
