Job summary

Sprezzatura is hiring a Frontend Engineer to support the VA.gov Platform. You will design and maintain a React/TypeScript–based frontend, contribute to shared libraries, and help scale CI/CD, testing, and deployment systems for multiple Veteran-Facing Services.

You will collaborate with Backend, Product, and Design System teams to modernize frontend architecture, improve developer experience, and ensure accessibility, security, and regulatory compliance across federal platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• Strong React experience with modern JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience designing reusable frontend architectures and component libraries.
• Proficient with GitHub Actions or similar CI/CD systems and debugging Pipelines.
• Experience with automated testing (Jest, RTL, Cypress, Playwright, Mocha).
• Familiarity with Node.js, npm/yarn, Webpack, Vite; strong Git habits.
• Comfort with AI-assisted development tools.
• Strong understanding of responsive design, performance, and accessibility.

Responsibilities

• Build reusable front-end components, utilities, libraries, and tooling to boost consistency and productivity.
• Improve architecture via code splitting, dependency management, and performance tuning.
• Lead modernization initiatives for frameworks and build tooling.
• Create and review technical design documents and RFCs.
