Job summary

Disney Entertainment and ESPN Product & Technology is seeking a Sr Product Software Engineer for News Front-End in New York. You will build and maintain ABC News sites and related properties using TypeScript, JavaScript, React, and Node.js, delivering scalable features for a high-traffic audience.

You will collaborate with ESPN and Disney brands, participate in design reviews, and mentor junior engineers while advancing engineering standards and performance.

Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years of professional software engineering experience.
Expertise with TypeScript, JavaScript, React, Node.js and modern front-end techniques.
Ability to own features across design, implementation, deployment and support.
Experience building scalable, high-traffic web applications.
Strong communication and proactive problem-solving.

Responsibilities

Build and ship product-level features for ABC News and related sites.
Develop specifications and technical designs for new features, refactors, and architectural improvements.
Review code from peers for design, testability, and usability; raise the bar on done.
Identify opportunities to improve systems, tooling, performance, observability, or DX.
Mentor engineers, lead code reviews, and provide guidance on best practices.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver end-to-end features.
