Job summary

Disney Entertainment and ESPN Product & Technology is hiring a Senior Product Software Engineer for the News Web Squad. You will help build and maintain the ABC News sites and eight ABC OTV stations, surfacing personalized video, tally election results, and keep local audiences connected to breaking news.

You will work with TypeScript, JavaScript, React, and Node.js to deliver scalable features and participate in code reviews.

Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years of professional software engineering experience.
Extensive experience with TypeScript, JavaScript, React, Node.js and modern front-end web development technologies.
Proven ability to own products and features throughout the full software development lifecycle.
Experience designing, building, and delivering scalable features for high-traffic environments.
Strong commitment to software quality, including automated testing and code reviews.

Responsibilities

Build and ship product-level features for ABC News and the ABC OTV station sites.
Develop solutions for problems of sizeable scope and complexity.
Create specifications and designs for new features, refactors, and architecture improvements.
Improve engineering practices by recommending development and coding standards.
Review peers' code for design, testability, and usability; raise the bar on done.
