Job summary

The Walt Disney Company’s Disney Entertainment and ESPN Product & Technology unit is seeking a Product Software Engineer II for the News Web Squad to build ABC News sites. You will work with typescript/js/react/node to deliver scalable features that connect local audiences to breaking news.

Qualifications

BS in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
Minimum of 3 years of professional software engineering experience.
Experience with TypeScript, JavaScript, React, and Node.js.
Strong front-end development knowledge including HTML/CSS.

Responsibilities

Build and ship component-level features for ABC News and the ABC OTV station sites.
Write clean, tested code in TypeScript, Node, and React; perform testing and debugging.
Develop specifications for components, projects, and fixes; ask clarifying questions.
Evolve engineering practices by recommending improvements to development standards.
Support software lifecycle: maintenance, troubleshoot production issues, maintain docs.
Escalate and resolve technical issues with defined procedures.
