Compass is hiring a Senior Software Engineer II to join our world‑class engineering team in New York. You will lead frontend initiatives across key domains, delivering dashboards, notifications, and reporting interfaces that empower thousands of agents.

The role emphasizes autonomous delivery, intelligent automation, and strong collaboration with cross‑functional teams. You will shape high‑visibility projects, review code, write tests, and document architectures.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional software development experience, with a track record of delivering complex projects autonomously.
• Deep expertise in modern frontend frameworks (React), UI/UX execution, and browser performance.

Responsibilities

• End-to-End Design & Build: shape a strategic product surface and build dashboards, notifications, and reporting interfaces.
• Drive Technical Delivery: define, decompose, and lead delivery of complex projects and subsystems across the stack.
• Incorporate Intelligent Automation: integrate AI models, data pipelines, and telemetry to automate workflows.
• Champion Engineering Excellence: perform rigorous code/design reviews and write high-quality automated tests.
• Own Your Domain: document architecture and runbooks, and own services throughout their lifecycle.
• Collaborate & Mentor: work with cross-functional stakeholders and mentor peers.
