Job summary

Thumbtack is seeking an experienced frontend engineer to build an AI-assisted design-to-code pipeline that links Figma to Thumbprint's React components. You will work with product design to create scalable patterns and contribute to a design system that integrates with agentic tooling.

The role requires strong TypeScript/React skills, hands-on AI tooling experience, and a history of delivering tools used across engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience as a frontend engineer building production product surfaces.
• Deep hands-on fluency with the modern web stack: TypeScript, React, build/test/deploy tools.
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools like Cursor, Claude Code, or Codex.
• Design system familiarity is welcome but not required; front-end and AI tooling fluency are essential.
• Track record building tools/infrastructure adopted by engineers/non-engineers with good onboarding.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration with designers, PMs, and partner teams.
• 6+ years of industry experience in software engineering.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement AI-assisted workflows moving work between Figma, prototypes, and production frontend code.
• Partner with Product Design to pattern, component, and workflow design for shipped product.
• Evolve Thumbprint so it composes with agentic tooling and prototyping platforms.
• Collaborate with Developer Experience and Frontend Infrastructure on AI agent and web stack foundations.
• Engage engineers and designers with office hours, feedback loops, and high-impact improvements.
• Prototype and evaluate emerging AI development tooling and provide scalable recommendations.
