Job summary

Liberty Mutual Fire Insurance Co. seeks a Principal Front-Office Engineer to design and deliver production-grade AI-enabled analytics and reporting tools for private markets.

You will build end-to-end Python apps, data pipelines, and dashboards, collaborating with the PSM team and other engineers to scale prototypes into robust systems. Qualifications

• Excellent problem-solving skills, ability to work independently with minimal guidance.
• Effective communication to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong attention to detail, able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• 5+ years of professional Python development for large financial datasets.
• Proficient with pandas and NumPy.
• Front-end development and UX; Plotly/Dash experience preferred.
• Experience with Git and CI/CD workflows; GitHub Actions and cloud deployment preferred.
• Experience using agentic programming tools (GitHub Copilot, Claude).
• Ability to translate AI prototypes into production-grade applications for investment management.
• Experience in investment management/financial services is a strong plus.
• Strong SQL skills; Snowflake experience is a plus.
• Familiarity with private markets data platforms (eFront, PitchBook, DealCloud).
• Experience with time-series data analysis using Python libraries (Scikit-Learn, SciPy, cvxpy); Monte Carlo cash-flow modeling.

Responsibilities

• Embed with the PSM team to translate portfolio strategies into iteratively delivered tools.
• Design and build full-stack Python applications, data pipelines, and decision-ready reports on enterprise platforms.
• Harden AI-generated prototypes into production-ready, scalable applications.
• Implement output validation, documented assumptions, and basic runtime logging within enterprise SLAs.
• Maintain clean repositories with linting, formatting, versioning, and up-to-date docs.
• Collaborate with embedded engineers to reuse utilities and connectors.
