Job summary

MetTel in New York City is seeking a Senior Software Engineer – Front-End to join Bruin Platform Modernization. You will build fast, interactive web and mobile interfaces, evolve Bruin portal, and establish a shared design system.

Work with product, design, back-end teams across time zones; apply React, Next.js, and TypeScript; ensure accessibility and performance; mentor peers. This role requires 5+ years and a track record of customer-facing UIs; salary range $150,000.00-$180,000.00 annually;

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering with strong front-end focus.
• Deep expertise in React, Next.js, TypeScript, and modern web frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of responsive design, accessibility WCAG, and front-end performance.
• Experience integrating front-end apps with APIs and microservices; building customer-facing UIs.
• Experience building and maintaining a shared design system or component library; Storybook proficiency.
• Agile methodologies and DevOps practices; excellent communication for distributed teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain the high-performance front-end for the modernized Bruin portal.
• Establish architecture patterns, state management, tooling, and testing strategy.
• Own a standardized, versioned component library and Storybook as the single source of truth.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, back-end engineers across time zones.
• Ensure UI/UX, accessibility (WCAG), and performance best practices.
• Integrate front-end with Bruin SDK, public APIs, and back-end microservices.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and contribute to prototyping and MVPs.
