CAT Labs is a fast-paced technology startup specializing in building digital asset recovery and cyber defense tools for government and private sector to fight crypto crime. We develop cutting-edge encryption technology for crypto key management to prevent digital asset theft. Our digital asset recovery tools help law enforcement and intelligence to address the pervasive and rapidly growing illicit use of cryptocurrency by transnational criminal organizations, terrorists, drug cartels, and malicious nation-states, which poses a significant threat to our nation’s safety and security.

The CAT Labs team is the “Special Forces” protectors of the crypto industry with unparalleled blockchain security experts, cryptographers, former U.S. Department of Defense computer scientists, ethical hackers, and U.S. Department of Justice investigators, who spent the past decade taking down some of the most prolific crypto criminals.

CAT Labs' flagship software tool Recovery CAT automates and scales the process of discovery and recovery of digital assets from digital data collected in the context of criminal investigations, intelligence collection, and civil case litigation where asset recovery is at stake, such as bankruptcy, restructuring, estate disputes, and divorce law.

We are seeking a Senior Front-End Engineer to join our early-stage startup with product-market fit and enormous potential. That means you have an unprecedented opportunity to “wreck the digital kingpins” while doing the most important work of your career.

At CAT Labs, you will play a key role in developing, testing, and maintaining our mission-critical products. As part of our team, you’ll contribute to the evolution of our cutting-edge digital asset recovery platform, ensuring it is robust, performant, and secure. This role combines technical excellence with creative problem solving.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop and maintain sophisticated front-end systems using React
• Design clean, functional, and visually coherent UIs that make complex data easy to understand
• Own the front-end user experience, incorporating feedback and designs from the team
• Own the front-end architecture, managing complexity and building comprehensive automated testing for core interfaces
• Work closely with back-end engineers and product leads to deliver seamless, well-integrated systems
• Integrate RESTful APIs and manage data-heavy interfaces with high performance and usability in mind
• Uphold code quality through testing, documentation, and peer collaboration
  
  
  
  
  

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• 5–7 years' experience in front-end development, with deep expertise in React.js
• Strong JavaScript and TypeScript skills
• Solid understanding of security best practices for web apps, including OWASP vulnerabilities
• Confidence in making UX/UI decisions, collaborating with designers and product owners
• Demonstrated understanding and ability to work with common authentication schemes, including OAuth and JWT tokens
• Experience working in Linux-based and docker-based development environments
• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline (or equivalent experience)
• Comfortable in fast-moving, early-stage start-up environments
  
  
  
  
  

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience with data visualization libraries or tools
• Understanding of API design and optimization, and ability to make simple updates to API endpoints / backend systems
• Familiarity with other frameworks including Angular
• Familiarity with blockchain platforms, digital forensics, or regulated environments (e.g. GovTech)
