HiringThing is seeking a Senior Frontend Engineer to help shape the future of our React- and Rails-based applicant tracking platform. In this role, you’ll lead the development of key frontend features, contribute to architectural decisions, and mentor other engineers. Our fully distributed team collaborates via Slack and video calls with a flexible, results-driven culture. While we support flexible schedules, we expect team members to be available for meetings and collaboration during standard U.S. business hours.

Who You'll Work With

You’ll join a collaborative, cross-functional engineering team that includes experienced backend and DevOps engineers, with opportunities to help shape our frontend direction. We work closely with Product and Client Services to build elegant, scalable recruiting tools.

Responsibilities

Must-Haves

• 4+ years of frontend experience, including 2+ years with React
• Proficiency with Redux and component-driven development
• Familiarity with Rails backend and REST APIs
• Strong knowledge of modern JavaScript, testing, and accessibility

Soft Skills

• Strong communication in a remote, asynchronous team
• Self-directed, highly organized, and detail-oriented
• Comfortable working in a dynamic environment with evolving priorities

Bonus Points For

• Experience with Jest, React Testing Library, or Mocha/Chai
• Familiarity with Docker, AWS, and Terraform
