The Role, Sr. Frontend Engineer
- This position is based in South Africa

Overview: We are seeking an experienced Sr. Frontend Engineer responsible for developing and maintaining our SaaS application portfolio. The ideal candidate is innovative, enjoys building new features, and is proficient with a range of technologies. We value resourcefulness, independence, and collaboration in our team members.

You should be passionate about experimentation and pushing boundaries. Our team members are eager to learn and improve, whether through self-driven research or collaborative questions.

Your Key Responsibilities:

• Participate in all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle, from planning to deployment.
• Work with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements.
• Write clean, functional, and reusable code for web applications and libraries.
• Support and troubleshoot production applications.
• Deep understanding of React and core principles.
• Experience with front-end tools like Webpack, Jest, etc.
• Proficiency with Git, Github, and Github Actions.

Qualifications:

• 7+ years of software development experience.
• 5+ years of experience with JavaScript, React, and Redux.
• Experience with Tanstack-Query is a plus.
• Familiarity with agile methodologies and confident in frequent releases.
• Ownership mindset towards the product.
• Strong communication skills.
• Experience interacting with RESTful APIs.
• Experience in frontend testing.
• Ability to evaluate and improve engineering tools and processes.
• Propose and prototype new technologies to enhance performance and reliability.
• Commitment to high-quality deliverables and testing standards.
• Build maintainable, modular, reusable components and libraries.
• Tackle complex technical challenges, especially at scale.
• Utilize modern APIs like React Suspense and Hooks.
