About This Position

This is a contract position with the flexibility to work remotely. Candidates must be located in the US and authorized to work in the US.

Responsibilities

1. Collaborate with designers and back-end engineers to create seamless, responsive, and accessible interfaces.
2. Architect and maintain reusable components and front-end libraries to ensure consistency and scalability across projects.
3. Optimize application performance by profiling and addressing bottlenecks in the rendering and data-fetching processes.
4. Build and integrate APIs, ensuring robust data flow and state management using tools like Redux or Context API.
5. Conduct code reviews to maintain high coding standards and mentor junior front-end engineers.
6. Work with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions, ensuring timely delivery of features.
7. Stay updated on the latest developments in front-end technology, proposing and implementing innovations to improve workflows and solutions.
8. Advocate for and implement best practices in front-end development, including accessibility (WCAG standards), responsive design, and secure coding.

Qualifications

1. Proven expertise in building scalable and maintainable front-end architectures with React.
2. Strong understanding of front-end performance optimization techniques and tools like Lighthouse, Webpack, and Vite.
3. Experience with state management tools such as Redux, Context API, or MobX.
4. Familiarity with building and consuming RESTful and GraphQL APIs.
5. Deep understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 or higher) and best practices for building inclusive user interfaces, including experience with screen readers, ARIA roles, and keyboard navigation.
6. Demonstrated ability to implement responsive and accessible designs using CSS frameworks (e.g., Tailwind, Styled Components, or SCSS).
7. Proficient in Git workflows, including branching, merging, and code reviews.
8. Experience with testing frameworks like Jest, React Testing Library, or Cypress.
9. Solid understanding of front-end security practices, such as XSS prevention and secure data handling.
10. Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.
11. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to adapt to unexpected challenges or constraints.
12. Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and tools like CircleCI is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Familiarity with server-side rendering and frameworks like Next.js.
2. Experience working in fast-paced agency environments or on enterprise-level projects.
3. Exposure to cloud platforms like AWS for front-end deployments.
