Job summary

Tyson Foods, Inc. in Springdale, AR is seeking a Project Engineer IV to deliver functional fresh meats processing designs and manage capital projects from conception through execution.

You will coordinate with business leaders, design firms, contractors, and government officials to meet schedule and budget targets. The role requires 7+ years of engineering experience in the food industry, strong proficiency with 3D design tools and MS Office, and willingness to travel 50–75%.

Qualifications

• Education: B.S. in Engineering or equivalent engineering experience; preferably with a four-year degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or Process Engineering.
• Experience: 7+ years’ applicable engineering experience in the food industry; knowledge of and experience with the business processes related to beef manufacturing preferred.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications- Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, SAP, Procore, Anaplan, experience with AutoCAD, Revit, and/or Visio a plus.
• Outstanding team player and self-starter with a passion for customer service, developing business relationships and solving complex business issues. Must have a passion for learning.
• Travel: 50 – 75% will vary by project location and complexity.

Responsibilities

• Lead capital projects from conception through design, budgeting, and execution in a fast-paced environment.
• Create/review design drawings, schedule and lead meetings with stakeholders and support members.
• Travel to jobsites to review project progress and ensure compliance with specifications.
• Develop and update project schedules, delegating tasks to project stakeholders and tracking progress.
• Review/revise contracts and coordinate equipment factory acceptance tests (FATs).
• Budget tracking, purchasing requisitions, and collaboration with business leaders, contractors, and government officials.
