Responsibilities

We seek a Senior Freight Coordinator with immediate availability who can excel in a challenging, process‑driven environment. The Senior Freight Coordinator will be responsible for planning, analyzing, and supervising logistics and transportation activities to ensure the efficient and secure movement of freight, which is essential for maintaining operational readiness and sustainment in the USINDOPACOM region. This role requires a highly experienced logistics professional with a strong background in freight coordination, distribution, and transportation management, particularly in military or government operations within the Pacific region. The Freight Coordinator contributes to enhanced logistics planning and execution, seamless reception and staging operations for deploying forces and equipment, effective distribution and transportation management to meet mission‑critical requirements. This role is integral to achieving the agility, responsiveness, and resilience required to support logistics and sustainment objectives in contested and expeditionary environments. This position provides a unique opportunity to directly contribute to mission‑critical logistics and sustainment operations throughout the Pacific.

• Melbourne, Australia - $95,156 - $120,531


• Guam - $76,125 - $96,425


• Okinawa, Japan - $65,625 - $83,125


• Philippines (Subic Bay area) - $62,343 - $78,968

Responsibilities:

Logistics Planning and Coordination

• Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive logistics and freight movement plans, schedules, and contingency strategies aligned with Operations Plans (OPLANs), Contingency Plans (CONPLANs), and Campaign Plans.


• Analyze transportation and distribution networks and provide recommendations on routing, scheduling, and capacity planning to optimize freight movement.


• Coordinate with government stakeholders, contractors, mission partners, and planners to identify transportation requirements, address constraints, and integrate logistics strategies across the operational framework.


• Ensure compliance with domestic and international transportation and maritime regulations, including customs and safety requirements.


• Plan and support multimodal transportation solutions (air, sea, land) to overcome chokepoints, degraded port access, and anti‑access/area denial (A2/AD) threats.

Reception, Staging, Onward Movement, and Integration (RSOI) Support

• Oversee the reception, inbound processing, staging, and onward movement of freight at designated Ports of Debarkation (PODs).


• Coordinate with transportation providers, customs officials, and host‑nation elements to ensure smooth and compliant operations.


• Verify shipment documentation and maintain accountability for all freight.


• Monitor and track freight to provide accurate In‑Transit Visibility (ITV) and ensure timely delivery.


• Manage storage conditions and safeguard sensitive or controlled materials.


• Plan and execute the onward movement of freight to final destinations to meet operational timelines.


• Address logistical challenges, including limited transportation assets, competing priorities, and degraded infrastructure.


• Support the integration of freight into operational settings to ensure availability for deployed forces.

Distribution and Transportation Management

• Manage the scheduling and routing of freight using multimodal (air, sea, and land) and hybrid domestic/international transportation solutions.


• Implement force protection and risk‑mitigation measures to safeguard sensitive and controlled materials.


• Monitor freight movement, address disruptions, and ensure continuity of operations.


• Maintain detailed freight movement records and provide regular updates to leadership.

Security Clearance:

• US Citizenship required; must possess a Secret clearance.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree (BA or BS) in Transportation, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.


• Minimum of 10 years of experience in logistics, freight coordination, or transportation management.


• At least 5 years of experience in military or government‑related logistics operations, preferably in the Pacific region supporting SOCPAC or other USINDOPACOM components.


• Proficiency in logistics planning tools and systems.


• Strong understanding of multimodal transportation solutions (air, sea, and land).


• Knowledge of domestic and international transportation regulations, including customs and safety requirements.

Preferred Additional Skills:

• Master’s degree in a related field.


• Ability to work in dynamic and expeditionary environments.


• Solid organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.


• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
