Job summary

affirm is recruiting a Fraud Data Analytics lead to own fraud performance for depository products. You will partner with Product, Engineering, ML and Risk teams to refine identity verification, fraud processes and application flow, while delivering actionable insights to reduce losses and improve user experience.

The role emphasizes building scalable data models, dashboards and monitoring frameworks, with strong emphasis on cross-functional impact and rapid iteration in a remote-first

Qualifications

• 7+ years of analytics experience
• Fluent in SQL and Python
• Cross-functional collaboration with product, engineering and risk teams
• Ability to translate complex data into actionable insights
• Strong communication of findings to technical and non-technical audiences
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of payment processing risk is a plus

Responsibilities

• Own fraud performance metrics for depository products, monitoring losses, approvals, declines, false positives, customer friction and risk
• Build and maintain scalable data models and transformation pipelines with tools like DBT to standardize fraud data
• Develop dashboards, scorecards and monitoring frameworks for fraud performance and portfolio health
• Perform deep-dive analyses to diagnose losses, gaps, and shifts, translating findings into recommendations
• Develop and optimize fraud rules, policies and models balancing loss prevention with user experience and growth
• Lead cross-functional collaboration with Product, Engineering, ML, Data Engineering, Fraud Ops and Risk to improve fraud strategies
