Job summary

Emerson's Test and Measurement Systems group in Austin, TX is seeking a Senior Digital Hardware Engineer to own FPGA and digital board design across the product lifecycle. You will collaborate with cross-functional hardware teams to define register maps, ensure design intent, and validate prototype hardware through bring-up and testing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Computer, or Software Engineering.
• 5+ years of relevant engineering experience in digital hardware design.
• Experience using VHDL and/or SystemVerilog to implement synthesizable logic targeting FPGAs.
• Experience using schematic capture and board layout tools for PCB design.
• Located within a commutable distance to Austin, TX, or willing to relocate.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future.
• Individuals with temporary visas are not eligible for hire.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary hardware engineering teams to develop test and measurement products.
• Develop register maps and documentation to ensure clear design intent to the broader project team.
• Own the full FPGA design, including logic implementation, data movement and analysis, testbenches, compilation, and timing analysis.
• Own all aspects of digital board level design, including schematic entry, layout guidelines, signal integrity simulations, and prototype validation.
• Develop and execute plans for prototype hardware bring-up and board level validation.
• Be the voice of digital design in project meetings by estimating level of effort for design tasks, providing input on status, and raising technical concerns.
