Job summary

Actalent is seeking an experienced FPGA Engineer for an onsite role in Warner Robins, GA. The position focuses on designing and developing digital circuits and subsystems, with emphasis on FPGA, CPLD, and ASIC components.

You will develop firmware using VHDL for Xilinx platforms and collaborate across hardware, software, and systems teams. Qualified candidates have a background in Electrical Engineering and multiple years of FPGA/firmware experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years of FPGA/firmware design experience or advanced degrees with commensurate experience.
• Experience designing, integrating and testing FPGA firmware for complex digital systems.
• Strong VHDL firmware development skills and Xilinx Vivado proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop digital circuits and subsystems including FPGAs, CPLDs, ASICs, and other digital components.
• Generate and update system requirements and select components based on analysis of specifications and reliability.
• Use modeling and simulation tools to accelerate firmware development and testing prior to hardware availability.
• Implement, integrate, and debug FPGA firmware using VHDL for Xilinx platforms (Vivado preferred).
• Interface firmware with software and hardware to ensure seamless integration.
• Create comprehensive test benches to verify FPGA firmware functionality and performance.
• Collaborate with hardware, software, and systems engineering teams to deliver integrated solutions.
• Sustain and improve existing digital designs and mentor junior engineers.
