Job summary

L3Harris Technologies in New Jersey is seeking a Lead/Senior FPGA Engineer to join the engineering staff. You will architect and implement FPGA designs in VHDL with hands-on design and debugging, focusing on defense applications and robust delivery.

Requires 5–7+ years of FPGA experience, Xilinx/Vivado expertise, and experience with FPGA toolchains. Strong communication and DoD program familiarity are essential, with NSA certification support helping secure program milestones.

Qualifications

• Bachelor/Master/PhD in Engineering or a related field.
• 5–7+ years of FPGA design experience with VHDL.
• Experience with Xilinx FPGAs and Vivado.
• Experience with revision control systems and EVM.
• Active DoD security clearance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Derive FPGA design specifications from system requirements.
• Develop detailed FPGA architecture for implementation.
• Implement RTL in VHDL and perform module-level simulations.
• Perform synthesis, Place and Route and STA.
• Conduct RTL quality checks including Lint, RDC, CDC.
• Generate verification test plans and end-to-end simulations.
• Support board and FPGA bring-up and HW/SW integration testing.
• Support product collateral for NSA certification.
