Job summary

Amazon Kuiper Manufacturing Enterprises LLC is seeking an FPGA design engineer to create FPGA solutions for LEO satellite communications. You will own FPGA bitstreams and drive development from architecture through validation.

Collaborate with network and systems teams to implement digital logic, optimize timing and power, and perform trade-off analyses to improve performance and cost efficiency. Strong background in SystemVerilog and Xilinx/AMD FPGAs is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Experience with modern ASIC/FPGA design and verification tools.
• Experience in writing test scripts (Python preferred) to validate FPGA images in HW.
• 7+ years experience in FPGA design and Implementation using SystemVerilog.
• Experience with Xilinx/AMD (or Altera) FPGAs.
• Experience with uArchitecture, RTL coding, FPGA optimization for timing & power, simulation, and validation.

Responsibilities

• Have ownership of one or more FPGA bitstreams across development phases.
• Create and release FPGAs through architecture-RTL-Physical Implementation-Timing Closure-Simulation Validation-Lab Silicon Validation.
• Collaborate with network communication system architects to define and design/implement/test/release networking functions on FPGA technology.
• Collaborate with Digital Communications/Networking system architects and design engineers to implement digital logic functions in FPGAs.
• Collaborate with systems architects, HW eng design teams & FW/SW design teams to bring up and test systems combining FPGA, firmware, RF, and Networking functions.
• Drive trade-off analysis to optimize customer experience and resource efficiency.
