Job summary

Eightelevengroup is seeking a Senior FPGA Engineer in Niskayuna, NY to lead integration of an MRI gradient driver prototype into a production MR platform. You will own a VHDL-based FPGA design for real-time control of high-voltage power electronics, including 800V switching and gradient functions.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of FPGA and digital design experience.
• Strong VHDL development experience required.
• Experience with Intel/Altera FPGA platforms and Quartus.
• Deep understanding of synchronous digital design, clocked systems, timing analysis.
• Experience implementing PWM and switching control in FPGA-based systems.
• Experience transitioning prototypes to production in high-reliability environments.

Responsibilities

• Integrate an existing MRI gradient driver FPGA prototype into a production MR platform.
• Own and advance VHDL-based FPGA designs for real-time control of high-voltage power electronics.
• Design, implement, and optimize synchronous digital logic and PWM-based control.
• Perform FPGA hardware integration, bring-up, debugging, and validation.
• Support transition from lab prototype to production-ready medical equipment with regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for MR system integration and documentation.
• Document design processes and test results for regulatory compliance.
