Job summary

Kopin Corporation is seeking an FPGA Design Engineer III to architect, implement, and validate FPGA-based digital systems for advanced display and sensing products. You will work on high-speed interfaces, embedded processor integration, and hardware/software co-development from concept to production.

The role emphasizes FPGA design, PCB integration, and system bring-up in SWaP-constrained environments, collaborating with cross-functional teams across hardware and software disciplines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline.
• 5–8 years of experience developing FPGA-based digital systems and embedded electronic products.
• Proficiency with Verilog and/or VHDL and FPGA RTL development.
• Experience in FPGA simulation, timing analysis, and timing closure.
• Knowledge of on-chip debugging techniques and hardware/software co‑design.
• Experience with PCI Express, Ethernet MACs, DMA engines, and embedded peripherals.

Responsibilities

• Architect, implement, and validate FPGA-based digital systems including high-speed data paths and interfaces.
• Develop FPGA designs using Verilog and/or VHDL including RTL development, synthesis, timing closure, and verification.
• Design FPGA architectures with clocking, I/O planning, and timing constraints to maximize performance and manufacturability.
• Integrate embedded processor systems within FPGA devices and develop custom peripherals and subsystems.
• Develop board support packages and low-level software to initialize and validate FPGA-based platforms.
• Configure and optimize high-speed serial interfaces such as SerDes, PCIe, Ethernet, HDMI, and DisplayPort.
