Job summary

Sun Recruiting, Inc. is seeking a Senior FPGA Engineer in Austin, TX to own the FPGA development lifecycle for advanced embedded computing products.

You will translate system and customer requirements into robust FPGA architectures and lead implementation and verification with hardware and software teams. The role requires 7+ years FPGA experience, strong VHDL/Verilog, and hands-on with Vivado and RF interfaces.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related
• 7+ years of FPGA design and development experience
• Experience interfacing FPGAs with RF converters using LVDS, JESD204B/C
• Hands-on with AMD/Xilinx Vivado and high-speed FPGA design
• Strong experience in VHDL and Verilog/SystemVerilog
• Ownership of FPGA development lifecycle: architecture to hardware verification
• Understanding of timing constraints and timing closure
• Experience with high-speed interfaces (DDR4/DDR5, PCIe, multi-gigabit Ethernet, JESD204B/C)
• Experience implementing and tuning high-speed serial-interface IP
• Experience supporting FPGA/DSP carrier boards and FMC/RF modules
• Vivado Simulator and ILAs
• Hands-on with Intel/ARM interfaces, DDR memory, MPSoC, or RFSoC
• Ability to review schematics with hardware engineers
• Demonstrated leadership and problem solving
• Experience with TCL, Python, C/C++, Embedded Linux
• Willingness to work across hardware/software boundaries
