Job summary

Cengage Group is seeking a Manager, Corporate FP&A to support corporate reporting, forecasting, and strategic decision-making. This role drives financial planning, modeling, and insights across the organization, with a focus on efficiency and AI-enabled improvements.

The position involves partnering with business units, preparing executive-level decks, and guiding long-term planning and M&A considerations. A strong background in accounting/finance and demonstrated analytical skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2-4 years’ experience in FP&A, private equity, or a similar role.
• Knowledge of financial statements - Balance Sheet, P&L, Cash Flow.
• Excellent working knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint.
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills with an ability to balance multiple activities.
• Aptitude for utilizing AI and partnering in operational transformations.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Outstanding analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
• Curiosity, resourcefulness, flexibility, and a willingness to collaborate.
• Self-starter who takes initiative; confident under pressure and meets deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Perform ad hoc analyses based on corporate initiatives requiring understanding of spend, investments, and transformations across the organization.
• Build and maintain models to support long-term decisions by analyzing profit and loss impacts.
• Develop financial projections for planning and investment decisions including proforma M&A activity.
• Assist in developing market and competitor intelligence and analyzing business opportunities.
• Assist in crafting budgeting and forecasting decks for executive discussions.
• Collaborate with FP&A team members and business partners to lead budgeting, forecasting, and driver analysis.
• Identify efficiency opportunities based on business unit economics.
• Proactively identify key insights in performance trends and provide analysis.
• Streamline planning and reporting processes including AI-enabled tools and procedures.
• Support external investor presentations and data requirements for reporting.
