Job summary

Appian is seeking an experienced FP&A leader to own budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for operational departments. You will translate financial data into actionable strategies that drive growth in our AI-powered process automation platform, collaborating with cross-functional partners and executive leadership.

This role is based at Appian's headquarters in McLean, VA, with in-office work 5 days a week to support collaboration and culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
• 5+ years in FP&A, corporate finance, or related finance function.
• Advanced Excel for forecasting, modeling, and data manipulation.
• Deep FP&A knowledge including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting for operational departments.
• Perform variance analyses and deliver actionable insights to leaders.
• Develop headcount planning models and operating expense forecasts.
• Create financial models to support scenario planning and strategic decisions.
• Establish KPIs and translate financial data into business narratives.
• Collaborate with senior finance to refine FP&A methodologies at scale.
