Appian in McLean, Virginia is seeking a Manager, FP&A to own budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for operational departments, translating complex data into strategic actions that drive growth in our AI-powered Process Automation platform.

The role collaborates with cross-functional leaders to build headcount and operating expense models, create KPI dashboards, and shape investment priorities as the company scales in a high-growth SaaS environment.

Qualifications

• Hold a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or related field.
• 5+ years of FP&A or related finance experience with progression in responsibility.
• Advanced Excel skills for forecasting, modeling, scenario analysis.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities for strategic recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Lead annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting for operational departments.
• Perform variance analysis and deliver actionable insights to leaders.
• Develop headcount, operating expense forecasts, and ROI analyses for initiatives.
• Create financial models for scenario planning and decision-making.
• Establish KPIs and translate data into clear business narratives.
• Collaborate with senior finance to refine FP&A methodologies.
