Job summary

Merrimack College seeks an AVP of Financial Planning and Analysis to lead enterprise analysis of revenue, costs, and performance. You will develop forecasts, dashboards, and AI-enabled decision support in collaboration with senior leadership, advancing growth with rigorous financial discipline.

Reporting to the CFO, you will partner across departments to sharpen budgeting, planning, and investment prioritization, while building trust and driving accountability at the institutional level.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, business administration, data analytics or related field required.
• At least 10 years of progressively responsible FP&A or related experience in higher education, industry, or public-sector environments.
• Demonstrated success in revenue analysis, cost analysis, financial modeling, forecasting, scenario planning, performance reporting, and business-case development.
• Experience partnering with senior executives and operating leaders in a complex, fast-moving, matrixed organization.
• Advanced proficiency with ERP, planning and forecasting, BI, data-visualization, and financial-modeling tools; AI or advanced analytics experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Revenue growth and revenue-center analysis across undergraduate and graduate programs, financial aid, and operations.
• Cost management: develop transparent cost-center reporting and actionable savings initiatives.
• Program economics: evaluate contribution-margin, unit-cost, capacity, and portfolio performance.
• Forecasting and scenario planning for enrollment, tuition revenue, compensation, and major operating expenses.
• Provide analytical support for budgeting and hybrid RCM, including dashboards and performance metrics.
• Deliver executive dashboards and variance analyses to inform decisions.
• Lead AI-enabled finance initiatives with data quality, privacy, and governance focus.
