Job summary

Public Library of Science (PLOS) is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to drive annual budgets and forecasts, and to provide clear financial commentary for leadership. This remote role supports a global organization with a focus on accuracy, dashboards, and scenario planning.

You will partner with teams across the nonprofit to validate data, improve processes, and deliver timely management reporting. A strong GAAP background, Excel mastery, and several budgeting tools are preferred.

Qualifications

• 4–7 years of progressive FP&A, finance or accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and general ledger structures.
• Ability to translate financial data into actionable insights for non-financial stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and present financial dashboards and commentary for executives.
• Drive budgets, forecasts and variance analyses across the organization.
• Develop financial models and scenario planning.
• Partner with teams to validate information for planning and reporting.
• Support ad hoc analyses and reporting requests as needed.
