Job summary

Cherokee Federal is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to own the monthly, quarterly, and annual OH and G&A budgeting, forecasting, and rate-building cycle. This hands-on role partners with Finance leadership and cross-functional teams to optimize indirect costs and pricing competitiveness, ensuring accurate reporting and proactive cost management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting or FP&A, ideally in regulated environments.
• Working knowledge of indirect cost structures, cost pools, bases, and rate build-ups.
• Strong financial modeling and analytical skills across planning and accounting systems.
• Ability to independently own recurring monthly, quarterly close, forecast, and reporting cycle.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for variance narratives to leadership.

Responsibilities

• Plan, budget, and develop overhead and G&A rate strategy across departments and spend categories.
• Manage annual department budget process end-to-end with calendar, templates, and submissions.
• Develop indirect rate build-ups and reforecasts to support pricing and proposals.
• Maintain and reconcile data used in budgeting and rate-setting for service centers and cost pools.
• Coordinate with accounting and financial leadership; perform variance analysis and scenario modeling.
• Lead regular meetings with department heads on budget and forecast, and support leadership-level reporting.
