Job summary

Amtrak is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst within Financial Planning & Analysis to support government affairs, strategy, accessibility, stations & facilities, and commercial departments. You will review current financial performance, develop budgets, forecast monthly results, and coordinate with finance partners and executive teams to improve cost control and financial insights.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field.
• 3 years of relevant work experience required.
• Experience in Financial Planning/Analysis (FP&A).
• Experience using ERP systems.
• Demonstrated proficiency with Excel (intermediate or higher).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support, develop and maintain relationships with departments.
• Prepare monthly operating and capital forecasts and budgets.
• Coordinate annual and multi-year budgets and legislative documents.
• Deliver regular financial analyses and insights for strategic planning.
• Monitor actual vs. budget and forecast results and explain variances.
• Present budgets to senior managers and support ELT/SLT staff.
