Job summary

Databricks is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to partner with customers in the Dallas area to design and productionize data and AI solutions on the Databricks platform.

You will own the architecture, lead design decisions, and implement end-to-end systems spanning data engineering, AI, and application development. This is a hands-on, customer-facing role requiring strong technical and communication skills.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in data engineering, data platforms, or software engineering.
• Proficient in Python, Scala, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience with two or more cloud ecosystems (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Deep experience with distributed computing using Apache Spark.
• Knowledge of MLOps and AI model APIs.
• Experience delivering production data architectures and pipelines.
• Willingness to travel 20% to customer sites.
• Databricks certification or equivalent is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead production‑grade solution delivery including reference architectures, custom applications, data ingestion and ML/AI model integration.
• Guide transformational big data projects from end‑to‑end design through deployment.
• Work with customers to ensure architectures are secure, scalable, and aligned with Databricks best practices.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and customer teams to deliver engagements that meet customer needs.
• Provide product and implementation feedback to Databricks teams to improve offerings.
• Embed with customer teams to understand challenges and drive measurable outcomes.
