Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Senior Forward Deployed Engineering Manager to lead multiple pods of FDEs, defining delivery models, standards, and talent strategy at scale. The role requires guiding organizational-level outcomes and influencing AWS leadership across several enterprise engagements.

The candidate will manage 15–30+ engineers, shape technical direction, and assure production excellence and measurable business impact across the portfolio.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of engineering experience.
• 5+ years of engineering management experience (including managing managers or large teams).
• 8+ years designing/leading large-scale production systems.
• Experience communicating technical/organizational strategy to executives.
• Current, active US Government TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.

Responsibilities

• Lead the FDE delivery organization across multiple engagements and pods; staff and structure teams for optimal coverage; travel up to 25%.
• Define technical strategy and delivery standards aligned with AWS teams and business goals.
• Own production excellence with standards, evaluation frameworks, and readiness criteria.
• Hire, develop, and retain FDE talent; build the leadership pipeline and calibration standards.
• Accelerate AI adoption; create accelerators and influence product roadmaps across customers.
