Job summary

Citigroup Inc. invites a Forward Deployed Engineering Director to lead a high-performing squad embedded within Citi's Lines of Business.

You will translate complex banking challenges into production-ready AI agents, while upholding architectural standards and governance. You will partner with LOB Managing Directors and CIOs across NYC and London, directing 3-5 concurrent AI agent projects, mentoring 8 senior engineers, and ensuring compliance with Lakera Guardrails and enterprise blueprints

Qualifications

• Over 15 years of technology experience with 8+ years in leading engineering squads in banking or fintech.
• Hands-on expertise in LLMs, autonomous agents, embeddings, vector search, and MCP.
• Proven ability to manage high-bandwidth client relationships and compliant production systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead sprint planning, resource allocation, and architecture for 3-5 AI agent projects.
• Ensure adherence to enterprise blueprints and Gateways like Lakera Guardrails.
• Mentor a squad of 8 senior engineers and foster rapid prototyping.
• Partner with LOB Managing Directors, CIOs, and product heads across NYC and London.
