Job summary

Citigroup Inc. in New York seeks a Lead/Staff Forward Deployed Engineer to anchor the technical delivery within an embedded LOB pod, architect and deploy end-to-end agentic workflows for flagship banking use cases, and set technical standards for the squad.

You will mentor engineers, lead complex integrations with core banking backends, and enforce robust security controls while collaborating with the AI Architect to drive reusable components and enterprise blueprint adoption.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience, including 7+ years backend/distributed systems
• 2+ years building and deploying production LLM/agentic applications
• Mastery of Python and asynchronous programming
• Experience with enterprise API integration and databases

Responsibilities

• Act as the senior technical anchor collocated with LOB engineering squads
• Architect and build end-to-end agentic workflows for flagship use cases
• Lead deep technical integrations with core banking systems and microservices
• Implement robust enterprise security controls (mTLS, OAuth2, Vault, OpenShift)
• Mentor engineers and conduct code reviews and security assessments
• Collaborate with Principal AI Architect on enterprise blueprints and reusable components
• Assess risk and ensure compliance with laws, policy and controls
