Job summary

Ladders is seeking a Senior Forward Deployed AI Engineer to join a healthcare-focused client team. You will partner with cross-functional groups to design and deploy AI capabilities that support clinical product experiences, moving initiatives from concept to production with strong validation and governance.

You will build reusable AI infrastructure and help raise the team’s fluency in applied AI while collaborating with US-based stakeholders in a remote setting.

Qualifications

• Six+ years building and delivering software, with production AI features.
• Proficient in Python and cloud engineering with AWS.
• Ability to evaluate models and reason about their performance with a methodical approach.
• Strong product delivery instincts and stakeholder communication across clinical, product, and engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Embed with teams to own AI solutions from inception to deployment.
• Determine validation criteria for initiatives, ensuring only vetted features go to patients.
• Develop tools for multi-step orchestration and human-in-the-loop processes.
• Architect AI features on the platform with shared model serving and monitoring tools.
• Establish pre-build evaluation criteria and triggers to streamline governance processes.
• Document reusable assets from each project to enhance team capabilities.
• Enhance AI fluency across teams through collaborative design efforts and mentorship.

For our client, we are seeking a Senior Forward Deployed AI Engineer to join the team of a leader in the Healthcare space.

This role will partner closely with cross-functional teams to design and deliver AI capabilities that support clinical product experiences. The engineer will move initiatives from concept through deployment, with a strong emphasis on validation, governance, and practical use in a patient-facing environment. The work will also include building reusable AI infrastructure and helping raise the team’s overall fluency in applied AI.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $140,000 – $160,000 annually
