Job summary

Fortress Information Security is seeking a Principal Forward Deployed Engineer to work remotely, collaborating directly with U.S. utility and government clients. You will deliver AI-enabled cybersecurity solutions, analyze diverse data, and translate customer needs into scalable product capabilities.

Ideal candidates are senior technologists with strong communication and commercial judgment. Responsibilities include reducing cyber risk, embedding workflows, and presenting outcomes to executives.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of software/data engineering, cybersecurity, and solution engineering at senior/principal level.
• Hands-on experience building AI-agentic workflows (LLM-based automation, agent orchestration, retrieval- augmented pipelines).
• Ability to access, normalize, and analyze large, multi-source data to answer urgent operational questions.
• Ability to write secure, production-grade code (Python or similar) in regulated environments.
• Strong executive communication skills for presenting findings to leadership.
• Ability to operate independently in embedded customer environments.
• Must be eligible for a U.S. security clearance; background check required.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with U.S. power utility and government customers to reduce cyber risk and deliver insights.
• Understand customer processes, data, cyber posture, and business constraints quickly.
• Answer urgent cyber questions about threats, affected products, and supply chain relationships.
• Access, export, normalize, and compare data across vulnerability management, SBOMs, and more.
• Write secure, outcome-focused code and agentic workflows for approved environments.
• Translate bespoke work into scalable product requirements for the platform.
• Identify expansion opportunities by illustrating customer value and repeatable use cases.
• Present findings to customer executives, technical teams, and internal stakeholders.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
