Fortress Information Security is seeking a Principal Forward Deployed Engineer to operate at the intersection of customer success, solution engineering, cybersecurity, data engineering, and AI-enabled automation. You will work with U.S.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of software/data engineering, cybersecurity, and customer-facing solution engineering at senior/principal level.
• Hands-on experience developing AI-agentic workflows and LLM-based automation.
• Ability to access, normalize, and analyze large multi-source data sets for urgent operational questions.
• Proficiency in production-grade code (e.g., Python) in constrained/regulatory environments.
• Strong executive communication for presenting findings to leadership.
• Ability to operate independently in embedded customer environments.
• Must be eligible for a U.S. security clearance; background check required.

Responsibilities

• Work with U.S. power utility and government customers to reduce cyber risk and improve visibility.
• Understand customer processes, data, cyber posture, and constraints.
• Help customers answer urgent cyber questions related to threats and vulnerabilities.
• Access, normalize, and compare data across vulnerability management, SBOMs, and related tooling.
• Write secure, outcome-focused code and workflows for secure environments.
• Translate bespoke customer work into product requirements for scalable capabilities.
• Identify expansion opportunities by demonstrating value and shaping repeatable use cases.
• Present findings clearly to executives, technical teams, and stakeholders.
• Other duties as assigned.
