Job summary

MilliporeSigma in the San Francisco Bay Area seeks a Sr. Formulation Application Specialist to bridge excipient portfolio and biopharma/pharma formulation teams. You will drive new business opportunities through scientific engagement and application expertise with R&D teams.

You will present approaches to formulation challenges for small and large molecules, translating science into credible value propositions and contributing to product development strategies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Industrial Pharmacy, or related discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in formulation, excipients, or pharma product development.
• 2+ years in a customer-facing technical or commercial role.
• Knowledge of formulation principles for biologics and small molecules.
• Willing to travel 40% domestically.
• Excellent communication, presentation, relationship-building, storytelling, and influencing skills.

Responsibilities

• Act as trusted advisor to customer formulation scientists.
• Lead technical seminars to demonstrate our portfolio's value in drug product development.
• Build relationships with R&D teams, regulatory experts, and quality control decision-makers across the industry.
• Collaborate with Product Management to shape future product pipelines and strategic positioning.
