Job summary

Forward Air Corp. is seeking a Forklift Operator to safely load, unload, stage, scan, and move freight in a multimodal terminal or warehouse environment. As an experienced team member, you will help mentor others and ensure cargo integrity.

This role requires a valid forklift certification, a high school diploma or GED, and 3+ years of dock or warehouse experience. You will operate sit-down/stand-up forklifts and reach trucks, use handheld scanners, and follow OSHA and company safety policies.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
  • Valid forklift certification/licensure (or ability to obtain before operating equipment).
  • 3+ years of dock or warehouse experience required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing, to understand safety and freight documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Load and unload freight using sit-down/stand-up forklifts and other MHE with proper safety.
  • Move, stage, sort, and position freight between docks, trailers, and designated areas.
  • Pick, pack, and prepare items for shipping and delivery.
  • Assist drivers with loading/unloading activities following safety procedures.
  • Label, scan, and track freight with handheld devices to ensure accuracy.
