Job summary

Americold Logistics, LLC. is seeking an experienced forklift maintenance technician to troubleshoot, inspect, repair, and maintain forklifts and material handling equipment in a cold storage environment.

You will perform preventive maintenance, rebuild major components, ensure OSHA-compliant operations, and mentor less experienced technicians, all while maintaining accurate CMMS records.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 2 years forklift maintenance experience or minimum 4 years mechanic experience in auto, diesel, or truck/trailer maintenance.
• Successful completion of assigned technical training and mechanical-electrical courses required.
• HAZMAT training and certification required.
• Basic computer skills for email, internet searches, and data entry required.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and perform preventive maintenance and repairs on forklifts and material handling equipment electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
• Rebuild or replace major components such as masts, undercarriages, transmissions, and engines or motors.
• Inspect forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment to ensure compliance with OSHA and operational standards.
• Maintain batteries and chargers in working order according to OSHA standards.
• Test, maintain, and evaluate equipment performance using appropriate instruments.
• Maintain accurate preventive maintenance records within the CMMS system and keep work area organized and clean.
• Share knowledge and assist in training and development of less experienced technicians.
