Norstella seeks a Senior Forge AI Engineer to own the Forge chain across orchestration, multi-agent coordination, and MCP server design. You will address agent memory, safety primitives, and production-grade evaluation pipelines in a fully remote role.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software engineering experience, with 2+ years in production of LLM-powered or agentic systems.
• Hands-on experience with MCP servers or tool-use APIs with versioning.
• Proficient in Python and/or TypeScript; production agent code ownership.

Responsibilities

• Design and build agents across the Forge chain — orchestration, tool-use surfaces, MCP server integrations, RAG pipelines.
• Own multi-agent coordination architecture and failure handling across the agent graph.
• Build and evolve the MCP server layer with versioning and tool-use surface safety.
• Design agent memory and state management across long, multi-step workflows.
• Own agent quality end-to-end: eval harnesses and benchmarks.
• Instrument observability: token tracing and cost attribution per run.
• Build safe-by-design primitives: least-privilege tool-use and PII handling.
