Job summary

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) within the U.S. Department of the Interior is seeking a senior forestry policy expert to advise management on the interpretation and implementation of national forest and woodland directives.

You will oversee the Oregon & California Forestry Management Program, coordinate with state offices and headquarters, and help shape annual work plans, budgets, and performance measurements to ensure compliant forest management under the Oregon & California Act (1937).

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
• Appointment subject to background investigation and favorable adjudication.
• Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.

Responsibilities

• Senior forestry policy expert advising management at all levels on interpretation and implementation of national BLM forest and woodland directives.
• Oversees national Oregon & California Forestry Management Program activities, including budget formulation, execution, allocation, and performance measurement.
• Coordinates with state and headquarters offices on annual work plans, land use plan preparation, protests, appeals, litigation, and program reporting.
