Job summary

Engineering Systems Inc. (ESi) is seeking a senior mechanical engineering consultant for forensic investigations and multidisciplinary projects. The role requires 15+ years in mechanical engineering consulting, design, or forensic work, with deep expertise in stress analysis, fatigue, and failure analysis.

PE licensure is mandatory, and a master’s/PhD is preferred. You will lead investigations, supervise fieldwork, and craft expert reports while mentoring junior consultants.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field required.
• Master's degree or Ph.D. strongly preferred.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and coordinate complex forensic investigations and multidisciplinary projects.
• Conduct field investigations of mechanical systems, machinery, and equipment.
• Perform advanced engineering analyses using mechanics principles (stress, fatigue, failure, fracture).
• Author high-quality technical reports and expert opinions; review junior staff reports.
• Provide expert testimony at deposition and trial.
• Lead client presentations and develop project staffing plans.
