Job summary

LVI Associates is seeking a Senior Forensic Engineering & Construction Materials Manager to lead complex investigations, special inspections, and materials testing projects across the Northern Virginia and DC Metro region. The role emphasizes forensic evaluation of defects, material failures, code compliance issues, and distressed structures, blending technical leadership with client management and growth.

Qualifications

  • PE licensed in Virginia.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • 7+ years in CMT, Special Inspections, Geotechnical or Forensic Engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of concrete, soils, masonry, structural steel, asphalt, and building envelope.
  • Proven leadership and team management.
  • Strong report writing and client communication.
  • Ability to cultivate client relationships and growth.

Responsibilities

  • Lead forensic investigations involving building materials, site construction, and structural components.
  • Oversee Construction Materials Testing and Special Inspections operations across multiple projects.
  • Manage field and laboratory teams, ensuring technical quality and operational efficiency.
  • Review inspection reports, laboratory data, and forensic findings.
  • Serve as the Engineer of Record and Special Inspections Engineer where applicable.
  • Mentor and develop inspectors, technicians, laboratory staff, and junior engineers.
  • Prepare technical reports documenting deficiencies, findings, and corrective recommendations.
  • Interface directly with clients and project stakeholders to deliver successful outcomes.
  • Support business development efforts and help expand the firm's forensic and CMT service offerings.
