Job summary

Engineering Systems Inc. (ESi) seeks an experienced forensic consultant to conduct site inspections, analyze project documentation, and assess construction damages across diverse structures. You will prepare expert reports, testify when required, and manage project plans, staffing, and budgets.

Ideal candidates bring 10+ years in cost estimating and damage evaluation, proficiency with Xactimate and MS Office, and strong client communication skills. Travel to national projects is expected.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in construction cost estimating, building damage mitigation, large investigations, project management, and technical report writing.
• Experience evaluating construction damage (fire, water, storm) across multiple structure types.
• Experience with construction cost estimating software; certification preferred.
• Ability to interact with clients professionally and develop business.
• Excellent written and oral communication; technical report prep and testimony desired.
• Willingness to travel occasionally as part of a national practice.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site inspections and analyze project documentation.
• Assess construction progress and property damages; communicate findings via reports.
• Prepare expert testimony and depositions when required.
• Lead project planning, staffing, and budgeting for phases.
• Mentor early-career staff and contribute to business development.
